Liposuction - Thighs
Liposuction is a procedure that can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted
fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees,
upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. It is one of the most common cosmetic procedures.
Dr. Siegel is able to perform this procedure in his office operating room
suite using either general anesthesia or intravenous sedation. Anesthesia
varies with the number of areas to be liposuctioned and with the size of the
areas. An incision of one-quarter inch is used for each area, and is hidden
in skin fold lines.
After surgery soreness can be expected for 2 to 6 days. Most patients can
have this procedure on Friday and return to work on Monday, as long as activity
is non-strenuous. A garment similar to a light weight girdle or work out shorts
is worn for two weeks after the procedure to apply pressure to skin which
discourages swelling.
